The grey family. Natural grey is the undyed colour of the salmon skin itself; the other nine are Grey & Fluorescent, Grey & Silver, Grey & Copper, Grey & Black, plain Grey, Grey & Green, Grey & Magenta, Grey Glossy, and Grey & Gold. Grey is the easiest fish leather to combine with other materials, and the scale pattern reads clearly on it. The video shows the scales close up and how easily the hide bends.
- Size: 11 cm or more across near the head, 60 cm or more long (4.3 × 24 in)
- One hide per order; every hide differs a little in size and pattern
A good first hide if you have not worked with fish leather before: it suits wallets, card holders, straps and bookbinding.
Tanned in Iceland by Nordic Fish Leather from salmon skins left over by the food industry, using geothermal and hydro energy. It does not smell of fish. Read more in What is fish leather?
